Certification

Certification is good for one year and expires at the end of the year on your referee patch. (Referees who certify in the summer are certified for three seasons.)  Referee Patches should be worn on your uniform for all games. To recertify you will need to do through the Mass State Referee's website.

Reimbursement

CCYS will reimburse you for the cost of an initial certification course or bridge course to a new grade after you have refereed a CC game at your new grade.  CCYS will reimburse you up to $50 for the cost of your uniform and referee equipment after you have refereed a CC game. 

CCYS will not reimburse referees for yearly re-certification. CCYS will only reimburse you for your uniform and equipment once.

For reimbursement, send an email of the date, time, place and cost of your course and/or uniform purchase to the CCYS Referee Coordinator . Reimbursement will appear in the first pay check of the season from CCYS.

Pay

Referees are paid by the season and by two different groups, BAYS and CCYS. Compensation for games ranges from $20 to $60 depending on grade-level certification, experience and the type of games you referee.  CCYS pays all referees during the Fall season: once midseason, and once at the end of the season.  In the Spring, BAYS pays center referees and U16/18 assistant referees directly, usually within 2 weeks of the time you fill out your on-line game report.  In-town referees and assistant referees for U11/12/14 games are paid by CCYS twice a season, just like the Fall season.

Mentoring a field for a game period   $35      Grade 8
