Certification

  • Cetification is good for one year and expires at the end of the year on your referee patch.
  • Referee Patches are required to be worn on your uniform for all games, no exceptions.
  • To recertify you will need to do through the Mass State Referee's website.

Reimbursement

  • CCYS will reimburse you for the cost of an initial certification course bridge course to a new grade
  • CCYS will not remiburse referees for yearly re-certification.
  • For reimbursement, send an email of the date, time, place and cost of your course to the CCYS Referee Coordinator . Reimbursement will appear in the first pay checks of the season.

Compensation

How much will I be paid?

Referees are paid by the season and by two different groups, BAYS and CCYS. Compensation for games ranges from $20 to $60 depending on Grade-level certification, experience and the type of games you referee. The more time you referee (many seasons), the higher level game you will ref (including the responsibility) and the more money per game earned.
