New Coach Information

We have put together a list of tasks that new coaches should complete before the season begins.  Click Here access this checklist.

Coach Training

Thank you for volunteering for a CCYS program.  Our club cannot be successful without the help of over 250 volunteers each fall/spring season.  CCYS requires all coaches to obtain coach licensing.  Feedback from coaches after completing courses say it helps them to better understand the mind-set of their players and gives them the tools needed to coach.  Licensing starts with the introductory 4-hour “G” course and continues with the F, E, down to the A.  Each course doubles in length from the last course and gives coaches the next level in skill needed to continue coaching.  Please read below for more details about current coach licensing course offerings and the CCYS policy on course reimbursement. All locally-held courses can also be found on the Club Calendar which can be accessed from the home page.

All coaches are required to receive regular coach training through our parent organization, Mass Youth Soccer.   Locally held (within Concord and Carlisle) courses are scheduled each season usally a G, the introductory course and an F the next one in succession of course.  For detailed information about all Mass Youth Soccer coach licensing offerings, click here to go directly to the Coaching Courses section of their website. From there you may choose from the left-hand menu options to find out more about each course.  To see a listing of all the courses offerings, click on Calendar.  To get details of a specific course, click on the course date.  From there you can register.  Pre-registration is necessary. Register early as courses fill quickly.

CCYS is happy to reimburses coaches for completed courses, click here for more information.

Practices

Practice fields are usually available for use starting the first week in April (spring open is weather dependent.  Please confirm with your program's director) and in the fall, two weeks prior to the season opening.  For confirmation of field availability of the current season please check with your division's age director.  Click on Contact Us for a list of age directors.

Team Formation - In-Town

Each season our In-Town program hosts team formation about one month before the season opens.  During this meeting registered coaches and assistants come together to form fair and balanced teams.  Registered volunteers receive an email from the registrar stating the current season's team formation date.

Fall 2011 In-Town team formation is on August 11 at 6:30 p.m. at Concord Carlisle High School Cafeteria, 500 Walden St, Concord.

Coach Meetings

CCYS hosts coach meetings for both the Travel and In-Town program about one to three weeks prior to the season opening.  Current season coach meeting dates can be found on the Club Calendar accessed from home page of our website or from the left-hand menu Current Season.
